I am currently a student at University of Texas at El Paso and am pursuing a career in pharmacy. In today’s modern age one cannot afford to be held back by health concerns. This is where pharmacists step up and make a difference. Pharmacists are up day and night learning about, and creating new medicine that makes society a better place live in.
One specific issue I find very important in the pharmaceutical field is the lack of patient’s education in the medication they are taking. I personally feel that more pharmacists should make it their ideal to make sure their patients know not only what they are taking, but what it’s composed of and all of the possible side effects. This is why when I finish graduate college in UT Austin and open my own pharmacy, I will make it my sworn duty to make sure I can get one on one time with most if not all of my patients in order to better establish their education on the treatments/medication they are receiving from my business.
As I progress through my educational career at The University of Texas at El Paso and The University of Texas at Austin, I will strive to maintain a high GPA and score as high as possible on the PCAT exam.
